The handles are made of imported exhibition-grade vintage-styled horn. A number of improvements in knife making technology and design were incorporated into the original LATAMA design, including premium 440c blade steel, W-1 spring steel, 304 stainless steel liners, a hand turned one-piece style 440c plunge mechanism that is virtually "wear-free," with bronze phosphorous washers between the pivot areas for a liquid silk action. Each knife was cut, sanded, fashioned, fitted, and polished entirely by hand - one at a time. Each Sam Polk Tribute Knife is stamped with Sam Polk’s signature and endorsed with the official LATAMA stamp. Included is a hand crafted glass top walnut presentation case, along with a numbered certificate of authenticity.

| In Memoriam Samuel E. Polk Friend and Mentor Sam Polk Lived As Others Merely Imagined But Never Realized Sad days, Sam Polk a great friend and mentor passed away November 5, 2010. Sam was a man who never let reality be an obstacle in the way of his desire. He taught me it was indeed possible to create one’s life exactly as one would want it to be. Where others saw limitations, Sam had the vision to see opportunity. He chose to live his life as most people simply imagined but never realized. Sam was able to see the big picture for which the details counted mightily. Humble generous and never stopped his pursuit to create. The legacy he left and his memory will live forever, thank you Sam. June 22nd, 1926 — November 5th, 2010 |
