Jerry Bodner Wood Handle with Stanhope JB-17

Extraordinarily rare miniature knife with Stanhope lens jewel embedded in the handle.  Stanhopes, or "peeps", are miniature microphotographic lenses incorporated in many novelty collectables produced from the mid-19th century onwards.  Stanhopes can be found in a range of small collectables.  To view the hidden image hold close to the eye, focused on a light source.  The Stanhope contains an image of the Administration Building from the 1939 New York Worlds Fair.  Handle made of exotic wood with a nickel silver guard and several spacers of different materials.  Delicate filework all along the back of the handle.  Mirror finish blade with Bodner stamp.  Measures 2-9/16" long.
