Jerry Bodner Ivory Handle with Stanhope JB-16

Extraordinarily rare miniature knife with Stanhope lens jewel embedded in the handle.  Stanhopes, or "peeps", are miniature microphotographic lensesincorporated in many novelty collectables produced from themid-19th century onwards.  Stanhopes can be found in a range of small collectables.  To view the hidden imagehold close to the eye, focused on a light source.  The Stanhope contains an image of the Trylon and Perisphere from the 1939 New York Worlds Fair.  Handle made of beautiful ivory with a nickel silver guard and delicate filework all along the back. Mirror finish blade with Bodner stamp.  Measures 2-9/16" long.
